Distinguished Service Award
Guidelines
PURPOSE
To recognize individuals who have provided
extraordinary service to their institutions, the higher education community,
the MINK region or the purchasing profession.
ELIGIBILITY
A Nominee must be, or have been, an active employee of a current member
institution, in good standing, of the National Association of Educational
Procurement and not a current member of the MINK Regional Executive Committee.
NOMINATION CRITERIA
This award will be given to those individuals who have
contributed continued and/or extraordinary service to the purchasing profession
and the NAEP at the Regional level. These people have personally incorporated
one or more of the following aspects of "Distinguished Service" into
their role as an NAEP member:
Generating original and innovative resolution of a critical purchasing issue.
Extraordinary Assistance to NAEP/MINK and/or their
institution in saving time and money.
Contributing a one-time, outstanding effort which involved
considerable risk.
Helping to bring credit to NAEP/MINK and/or their institution
with exceptional contributions to the purchasing field or their community.
Helping to enhance the objective and excellence of the
NAEP/MINK and/or their institution by obtaining achievements that display
personal initiative and creativity.
NOMINATION
Nomination shall be made by letter or fax from an active member institution to
the NAEP/MINK Awards Committee Chair. The Committee Chair will be the past
president of the region, who will appoint their own committee. Self-nomination
endorsed by another eligible recipient is encouraged. All nominations must be
in the hands of the committee chair by June 30. Members are required to
complete a Request for Information form for each nomination made.
PROCESS
The committee shall consider all nominations received and the Committee Chair
shall advise the President two months prior to the Regional Meeting of the
names of any individuals the committee feels should be recognized through this
award. The committee's recommendation shall be accompanied by a citation
describing the specific reasons the award should be made.
All committee decisions shall be made by majority vote. Normally, the committee
shall conduct its business by mail and conference call. The final decision
shall be made by the Board and held confidentially until the award(s) is made
at the Regional Meeting Business Luncheon.
